Ker je zgornji del stekla naravno izravnana, ploskosti je visoka. Spodnja ploskev je površina v stiku s tekočino kositra. Pod neprekinjenih proizvodnimi pogoji, na površini tekočine kositra je ogledalo podobno, ter površina ravnost je prav tako zelo visoka.
